Rt Hon John Key, Patron of the Kumeu Show
The Kumeu Show is undoubtedly one of the highlights of MP John Key’s social calendar, so much so that in 2002 he accepted the privilege of becoming its Patron.
Every year it gives him an opportunity to take off his suit, attend his stall and meet and greet members from the local community and beyond. He likes to take in some highland dancing, marvel at the woodchoppers and shearers, and has been known to conduct the Kumeu Brass Band, to whom he is also Patron. He enjoys the impressive array of craft foods and prize produce and animals.
For him the mussel fritters are a must. The two-day show is the biggest local event of the year and Mr Key, the MP for Helensville since 2002, is proud to lend it his support.
